About Us :

A few years ago three persons with a deep concern for Nepal`s disadvantaged children, came together in the city of Kathmandu, to share their ideas of providing help and support.

From that gathering was born the NGO, Children's  Future Organization.

CFO-Nepal was registered in Kathmandu in May, 2003 by its three co-founders Ramesh Dhamala, a Nepalese citizen with extensive experience in Social Work, Dr.Olga Lasota, a Medical Doctor from Austria living permanently in Nepal and Dr.Roswitha Schroeter, a Psychotherapist from Germany and adoptive mother of two Nepalese children.

CFO-Nepal is committed to make positive changes in the lives of orphaned and underprivileged children. It provides a homey environment, an opportunity for quality education and many other necessities for the children. Although lost parents cannot fully be replaced, the staff of CFO-Nepal makes every effort to give the children a happy home.

By May 2010, Children's Future Organization was responsible for a total of 90 children ranging in age from a few months to 18 years.  60 children live in our home in the Mandikhatar area of Kathmandu and 20 children at the home in the neighboring City of Patan. In addition, we support 10 children living in the hostel of the Himalayan Academy School where all our children attend classes.

The numbers of children in our care continues to grow and the costs for their support is increasing each year. The space and resources at the CFO-Children`s Homes are limited but how do you turn your back on a child in need ?

Each one is an orphan or child lacking support of family members or community.
If we don't care, who will?

In 2009, our dream to purchase land in rural Dhading District became a reality. There a new children`s home will be built as soon as possible. The present CFO-Homes in Kathmandu and Patan are rented properties.  Rental costs continue to increase steadily along with the number of children in our care.

The past seven years have been successful ones. Now we are faced with the daunting task of raising funds to build a permanent home with more capacity to take care of our growing CFO-Family and are hoping for good progress.
