The aim of CFO-Nepal is to care for disadvantaged children and to equip them with opportunities for a better future. We recognize the wellbeing of our children is the first priority of all our activities.

CFO-children are cared for by providing:  

A Loving, Safe and Clean Home

Two houses were rented in Kathmandu Valley to serve as homes for our "family".  One home is located on the northern edge of Kathmandu. The other is in the neighboring City of Patan, just across the Bagmati River.  Both homes are located in quiet, green surroundings. They are well equipped to serve the needs of our children and their caregivers.

A Family-Like Environment

We do our best to make the living conditions at our children's homes resemble life in a well functioning family environment. Most caregivers live permanently at the homes and guide the children with great responsibility and love. To update their knowledge of childcare and home administration issues, CFO-staff regularly attends training programs to improve their skills.

Quality Education

Good education is an essential tool to achieve a successful and independent life. CFO-children attend private schools and are supported by the CFO in-house tutors who guide the children's homework each day and help them prepare for school exams.

Recreation Activities

Going to school and passing exams is not all there is to a good life. Developing good social skills requires a healthy balance between education and leisure activities such as playing games, spending time with various outdoor activities and taking part in sport competitions.

CFO-volunteers and other visitors to our homes provide valuable help with these tasks and bring entertainment into the daily routine of the children.

Health Program

Children with a difficult personal history are prone to illness and chronic disease. For that reason each newly admitted at CFO-child undergoes a thorough health check. Illnesses are cured with help of child health specialists. Routine health check ups are performed each year including dental and vision screening plus vaccination programs.

Adoption Program

CFO-Nepal is authorized by the Nepal Government to perform inter-country adoptions and has done so successfully for several years. Children eligible for adoption have the opportunity to find loving parents and a new family.

CFO-Nepal also advocates in the field of adoptions and child rights. We work tirelessly with Government agencies in an effort to improve existing adoption regulations and policies.
