TWO CFO-CHILDREN STUDY AT NAVAJYOTI CENTER |
Ramesh, a 6-year old boy with Down Syndrome, and
8-years old Arjun, a mentally retarded CFO-child, have been admitted at a school for disabled children end of June.
The Navajyoti Center is the first day school for developmentally disabled
children in Nepal and is a welcome setting in a country where ignorance about
the causes of mental disabilities and a lack of treatment options can make life
very difficult. Ramesh and Arjun have inspected the school with their
caregivers and decided to attend classes there. Both children will be cared for
according to their needs and this will definitely boost their self-esteem and
contribute to their development.
